Per-event metered pricing
Mails.ai's usage-based pricing tier, coming soon — Stripe metered billing at $0.001/send + $0.002/inbound (+$0.003 opt-in classify). No monthly minimum. Aligns cost to actual agent send + inbound volume rather than over-committed monthly tiers.
Per-event metered pricingis Mails.ai’s usage-based pricing tier, coming soon. Every event (send or inbound) posts a usage record to Stripe. At month-end, Stripe issues an invoice based on aggregated usage. No monthly minimum. Send 0 events, pay 0.
Why it exists
Monthly email tiers were designed for marketing-blast SaaS with predictable steady volume. Agent traffic is not that — a support agent might send 10 emails on a quiet day and 1,000 on an incident day; a 2FA bridge agent fires only when a human signs in. Monthly tiers force over-commit for the spike and waste capacity on the quiet days. Per-event metered pricing aligns cost to what you actually use.
The rate card
- $0.001 per send
- $0.002 per inbound
- +$0.003 per inbound with opt-in classification (intent + entities + urgency)

When it ships
Coming soon at Phase 1 launch. The Metered tier ships alongside Free / Pro / Scale. The underlying metered economics are baked into the platform from v0; the customer-facing tier was unlocked when per-event reporting wired through to Stripe usage records (May 2026).
